Mikumi National Park is one of Tanzania's largest and most accessible national parks, located on the mainland. It's known for its open savannahs and incredible wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, hippos, and many more species. It's often compared to the Serengeti for its stunning landscapes.
We fly you directly from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park and back. The flight takes approximately 40 minutes each way, so you can enjoy a full safari experience without needing an overnight stay on the mainland.
This is an early start - hotel pick-up is at around 4:30 AM depending on the area so we can get you to the airport in time for the morning flight at 7am. You'll be back at your hotel by approximately 6:30 PM, in time for dinner. Please note that these times might change slightly on some days.
Mikumi is home to a wide range of wildlife including elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, hippos, wildebeest, buffalo, and many bird species. While sightings can never be guaranteed with wild animals, the open savannah landscape makes it one of the best parks for spotting game.
By default, you'll share a safari jeep with other guests - this keeps the price down and is a great way to enjoy the experience. If you'd prefer a private jeep with your own guide, you can add this option for a surcharge.
Yes! A buffet lunch at our restaurant site inside the park is included, along with water. It's a great chance to recharge between game drives.
We recommend wearing neutral-coloured clothing (khaki, beige, olive), bringing sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a camera with a good zoom lens.
Yes, the safari is suitable for children and is a fantastic experience for kids who love animals. Please note the early start time and long day when planning with younger children.
You can pay the remaining 80% on the day of the safari before the first flight. You can either pay cash (Euro, US-Dollar or Tanzanian shillings) or by card (in USD). We have to charge a 3.5% fee for card payments, though.
We usually use open jeeps but also have some closed jeeps available. If you feel more comfortable in a closed jeep please let us know in advance.
Yes. We work with licensed and experienced airlines and charter flight operators. The flights are scenic and offer beautiful aerial views of Zanzibar and the Tanzanian mainland.
If the flight is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control, we'll offer you the choice to reschedule to another day or receive a full refund.
Tips are not included in the tour price but are always appreciated by your guide and driver if you enjoyed the experience.
Yes, the tour can be cancelled up to 48 hours before the start time. Just send us a message on WhatsApp or an email with your booking reference and we will issue a full refund to the original payment method.
