Most guests will be picked up at their hotel between 4:00 and 5:00 AM for their flight to Mikumi National Park. After a full day of safari with two game drives and lunch, you will return to your hotel between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.
We recommend bringing comfortable clothing, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a camera.
Mikumi is home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, wildebeests, hippos, and various antelope species. You may also spot leopards, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds.
There are two game drives – one in the morning and another after lunch – each lasting about 2.5–3 hours, giving you plenty of time to explore the park and see a variety of wildlife.
Yes, children can join the tour, but keep in mind that the early departure, flights, and long game drives might be tiring for very young children.
Yes, non-swimmers are welcome to join. We provide extra flotation devices, such as life jackets and floaties, and our guide will ensure you feel comfortable and safe in the water. Please let us know in advance, though.
Flights usually operate in most weather conditions, but if there are extreme weather issues affecting safety, the tour may be rescheduled or refunded.
No visa is required for the daytrip, as Mikumi National Park is within Tanzania, and Zanzibar is part of Tanzania.
This is a daytrip designed for a short safari experience, but if you’d like a longer safari, we can help arrange multi-day tours to other parks like Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater or Nyerere.
