Day 1 - Tarangire
On the first day of your safari, visit Tarangire National Park, renowned for its iconic baobab trees and large elephant herds. The Tarangire River, a lifeline during the dry season, attracts diverse wildlife, including zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, and predators like lions and leopards. The park’s varied landscapes, from grassy savannas to dense woodlands, provide a stunning backdrop for spotting wildlife and vibrant birdlife. It’s an exciting introduction to Tanzania’s natural beauty and wildlife. As you explore, the park’s tranquil beauty and abundant wildlife set the tone for an incredible safari adventure.
Day 2 - Journey to Serengeti
After breakfast we will begin our journey to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a scenic drive to Serengeti National Park, passing through the picturesque highlands of the Ngorongoro area. As you travel, you’ll start spotting wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, and wildebeest, offering a taste of the adventure to come. Upon arrival in Serengeti, embark on an exciting afternoon game drive. With the park’s vast plains teeming with wildlife, you might encounter lions, elephants, leopards, antelopes, buffalos, and monkeys. After an exhilarating day, spend the night in a comfortable lodge or tented camp within the Serengeti, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.
Day 3 - Serengeti
Awake to the stunning sunrise over the Serengeti and set out for morning and afternoon game drives. The Serengeti’s endless horizons provide the perfect backdrop for spotting a myriad of animals in their natural habitat. From the majestic predators to the gentle giants and a variety of bird species, every moment offers a new discovery. In the late afternoon, begin your journey towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying the changing scenery as you leave the Serengeti’s open plains. Arrive at your accommodation near the Ngorongoro Crater rim, where you can unwind and prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Day 4 - Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most extraordinary wildlife spots in Africa. This vast volcanic caldera, surrounded by steep green walls, is home to an incredible density of animals, including the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. As you traverse the crater floor, you’ll encounter large herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles, along with hippos lounging in the lakes and flamingos lining the shores. The crater’s diverse landscapes, from grassy plains to acacia forests and a shimmering soda lake, create a stunning backdrop for spotting wildlife. Day 5 - Lake Manyara
On the final day, you’ll explore Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet diverse gem nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, which can occasionally be spotted lounging in the acacia branches. As you drive through lush groundwater forests and grassy floodplains, you’ll see elephants, buffaloes, and troops of baboons. The alkaline lake is a magnet for birdlife, with pink flamingos, pelicans, and storks creating a colorful spectacle along the shoreline. The combination of dense woodlands, open plains, and the shimmering lake provides a picturesque end to your safari adventure.
